Thanks Crickette!

I work on night shift this week because I'm on the last few days of my project (I made it! Yay! :D) and honestly, I am enjoying it. For some reasons, I am more productive in the wee hours and when I get home, I recharge until mid-afternoon and still get some me-time before going to work again. 

And then this afternoon, while spending my lull time, I got all giddy when this arrived at our doorstep:

Well it wasn't really a surprise because Crickette of The Drama Queen Can Tell Stories e-mailed us that she'll be shipping the prize anytime last week but usually, someone else at home receives deliveries on my behalf. This time, I personally got the package and it was pure delight! ^_^

It should have been just Nivea products (for the record, I've been using the brand for years!) but since Crix is a dentist, she threw in some tubes of toothpaste and bottles of mouthwash, too. Thanks mucho, Doc! :D

Better Late than Never

I came home tonight and was pleasantly surprised with what's sitting in my bed:

If you still remember, I posted about me winning this from Aryanna Epperson back in July. It took 2 months for it to arrive because apparently there have been problems with former couriers. Anyway, thanks to Aryanna and kudos to Paulo of Samsung PR dept. for getting in touch and constantly e-mailing to update me of the status. The best thing about it is that I know I was supposed to get only one USB bracelet but as their way compensating the delay, they sent me two! Awesome! :D

I haven't been very active in Twitter lately. In fact, I only log in to join contests (haha!) or exchange a tweet or two with close friends, then sign off. So two nights ago I was surprised when I accidentally clicked the Mentions tab and saw this:

I hurriedly visited Aryanna's blog (fyi, Aryanna is Ms. Jenni Epperson's unica hija) and I was able to confirm that I actually won one of these techie blings...

Here's the catch. She posted the winners on June 26 and it's been more than two weeks :-( I was worried that the price gets forfeited but I still e-mailed her. It's worth a try, right? Then just a few hours ago, she replied asking for my delivery address! How awesome is that? :D

After a tedious verification process, I am very pleased to share that there were 55 unique entries to Maude's Avenue of Thoughts' Blog Anniversary giveaway. This translated to 4 excel sheets, hours of cross-checking and 167 valid entries (since a person can have a maximum of 4). Again, my deepest thanks for celebrating my 1st year of blogging with me.

Good thing we had some idle time in the office 
so I was able to prepare the manual raffle earlier today :)

Flashback Fridays: Meeting Tisha

It's Friday but it doesn't feel like Friday at all. Thanks to weekend work on Saturday night. Boo. However, there's still something about Friday that helps me cheer up. Any guess? Well, you're right. It's Flashback Fridays time again.

Because I was having fun with my girls last weekend, I thought I should make up and do two FF posts today. Thank heavens, I am sooooo in the mood to blog these days!
 
Now here goes the first one :D

I started out the year good. I kicked 2011 off by winning a giveaway from Tisha, Good Housekeeping Magazine's editor-in-chief and blogger extraordinaire. After a few e-mails, we agreed to meet up 6th of January. With the way she answered my messages, I instantly felt she's a nice woman, and when we finally met, I've proven myself right. She's nice. No... she's waaaay beyond that ;-)

I easily recognized her the moment she walked in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Greenbelt. Her style was simple yet sophisticated and her attitude, nothing short of warm and welcoming. We sat over a glass of juice and frap and you know what's the first thing she told me?

"Sooooooooo.. tell me something about yourself!"

"Oooooh, job interview?" I answered. And we both laughed.

That was a great way to break the ice. :)

From there, we started chit-chatting and asking about each other's life - family, hobbies, and of course, love life! Even though I was nosebleeding deep inside (I don't usually make kwento in English, you know) I enjoyed our conversation. There's something about her that made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. We were practically strangers but she didn't mind sharing a thing or two about her personal life. She told me about her beloved sport - frisbee - and oh,  her wedding too! :)

In about half an hour her sundo (the hubby, who's equally nice) came. And since it's not everyday that I get to spend time with people like her, there has to be a souvenir shot! :D

Once again, a big thanks to Tisha for taking time off her hectic sched. Advance happy anniversary to Here, Tishie Tishie! More years to your blog! And more love for you! :)

It's a Happy Monday!

I stayed up late last Friday mainly to make up to this blog site but as I was trying to put my thoughts together, I blog-hopped and landed at Ms. Nikki Tiu's beauty blog, AskMeWhats. I saw that she's hosting another contest:

I thought it was very timely because Faye will be having her JS prom this coming Wednesday. Being the stage sister that I am, I typed my entry right away and submitted it with high hopes. When I checked back after a few minutes, my heart was crushed when I saw that a lot of other readers have already joined and there is no way I'll make it to the first 5. Thus, I convinced myself that the prize isn't meant for me. Better luck next time, Em.

And then today, I checked my mail and almost jumped for joy when I saw this:

I went to her site again to know how I won and it turned out that Paul&Joe gave another 5 GCs and I'm part of the second batch. It was, after all, meant for me!!! :D
