WordCamp Today!

In an hour I'll be needing to start prepping up for WordCamp Philippines 2010 but I still haven't slept yet. My girls and I went singing our hearts out at a nearby videoke house and right now they've found their own spot in the living room floor and are already asleep. But here I am still posting my first blog for October.

So yeah, Jaq recently got promoted and of course she owes us a treat. Thus, a videoke party. We had like 40 songs including a lot of high-pitched ones which is mainly the reason why we they are already down and in deep slumber.

 My friends for life.

The scenario here right now is much like our thesis days, except that we're not stressed about circuits not working and documentations not even half-done. Right now all we are worried about is how we're gonna fit all the video files (think Glee, Vampire Diaries and Big Bang Theory) into our portable drives! Hahaha. It's gratifying that we're over and done with college kinks but it's kinda hard too that we need to make our schedules match to go out altogether.

I wish we could do sleepovers like this as often as before. It sure is one great way to relax and reminisce at the same time :-) I also wish I could do a lot more kwento but I need to take a nap. WordCamp starts in a few hours! It's my first time to meet bro-in-law and I don't want him to remember me as the girl with big black eyebags. Hahaha.

Will be back blogging tonight, hopefully with fresh ideas from the camp! ^_^

Jolli-beef!

It's another Friday! :D Although mine is a TGIT (Thank God It's Thursday because my long weekend started yesterday), there's still something to be thankful for today. This morning, Jhay and I went to mass together at Quiapo church and even if it's hot and crowded, I loved it because it's another moment of worshiping Him with Jhay by my side. After the mass, we hit the Jollibee store in front of the church to grab a quick breakfast. And here comes the highlight of this post:

I looooooved the Jollibee Beef Tapa! It's the first time that I ordered this and it didn't disappoint! ^_^ It was as appealing to the palate as it was to the eyes. Very tender and tasty and just oh-so-good! Well, Tapa King is still #1 in my book but for 76 pesos (with a cup of hot chocolate on the side), it's a good deal!

C'mon, head to the nearest Jollibee tomorrow and try it! I had a lovelier morning because of it and I'm sure you will, too! :D

4Ts and an S

The past few days I’ve been staying late in the office. Workload’s kinda tough so I go home somewhere between 12MN and 3AM. I guess my body clock had adjusted pretty well so I’m still up and about at 1 in the morning. I really really wanted to rest but sleep just won’t come knocking at my door so I thought I might as well make the “puyat” worth it.

So here’s my agenda for the night… err, morning..

I wanted to share 4 things that I am thankful for today – 4 very little things that gave me a few seconds of happiness:

* I have finally added the LinkWithin gadget here. So what the hell is LinkWithin? It’s that portion at the bottom of my posts (come on, scroll down for a while) that links 3 related stories so that visitors can easily hop from one post to another. Really nice, isn’t it? Get yours here. :D

* Toblerone Pilipinas just sent a message saying that instead of the previously announced prize of Php 2000 worth of The Spa GCs which I and my Epic friend will share, they’re giving us PhP 2000 each to avail full pampering packages! Awesome!

* I had some quality time with my two darling babies, Kurt (my favorite inaanak who lives with us now) and Haley. It was super amusing to play with them and sing A-B-C and take pictures. Here are a few shots:

Please excuse my baby hair strands all around :P

And last but not the least…

* It’s Friday already! I don’t know if it’s because of the Monday holiday or I was just too busy that I hardly noticed the days pass. It’s weekend once again and this weekend is a really exciting one because it’s the awarding of the Toblerone Epic Friend Promo (that means chocolates and spa and girl bonding) and Jhay and I will be turning 63 months! He said he’s cooking up something special for our monthsary so I’m really looking forward to that.

Oh speaking of my Jhay, the S that I am talking about is a Sorry.

*mellow music in 3, 2, 1...*

Since I got home early today, Jhay and I intended to catch up on our how’s-your-day session and eat-at-the-same-time-even-if-we're-kilometers-apart habit every night. But my mood swings and short temper got the better of me. Yes, we fought. They say girls rarely admit it when they’re wrong but here I am saying it was my bad. And I’m sorry. So please honey, when you wake up, bati na tayo ha? :D

There you have it. It's 2AM in my clock and I was able to spend my one hour well. Now let's all have a great night and a beautiful Friday ahead :-)

Cheers,

Friday the 13th Fun

I've always been neutral about the Friday the 13th jinx that people talk about. I never had a bad experience about that day, or at least not that I can remember. But last night made me lean towards liking the dreaded Friday because after 9 long years, I got to bond with my elementary bestfriend again! :-)

The last time I saw Peaches was on Junie's baptism because she was one of my little sister's godmothers. Oh, fyi, she and her family migrated to Texas some 6 years ago. So the very first time she told me over Facebook that she'll be coming home to the Philippines for a vacation, I was really excited. I'm not really sure how we would jive because we haven't been hanging out for long but hell, I am really looking forward to it! It's like I'm even more excited than Junie, who's actually the one to receive a lot of stuff because her Ninang Peach has a lot of utang already!

And so after a few exchange of messages, we agreed to meet-up yesterday. We really don't have a lot of plans for the night. All we know is that there'll be a lot of catching up. And indeed, we didn't do anything else! We had dinner at Kenny Rogers and seated there for like two and a half hours talking about our adventures and misadventures in MCS. Oh by the way, another friend of mine, Peaches' schoolbus mate Lester also joined the fun! We had a really good laugh while reminiscing our kalokohans.

I forgot to mention that Junie was with us too because Peaches wants to make up for all the birthdays and Christmases that she missed. She got a Barbie doll which Peaches brought pa from the US then she made lambing to her ninang to buy her some kikay stuff at this really chic shop called Girls. Nevertheless, the little girl enjoyed the night as much as we did.

Peaches, thanks for spending with us a portion of your elusive vacay time, and for the treats too (especially the chocolates.. LOL)! You haven't left yet but I miss you already. Have a safe trip going back! And please, come home to PI again... soon! :-)

I ♥ Fridays

I adore Fridays. I mean, who doesn’t? It’s a temporary escape from the stressful 9-5. Chances are, there’s a meet-up with friends or a date night with sweetie. Staying up late is legal. And oh, I have the laptop all to myself! *evil laugh*

Since the desktop PC here at home handed me it’s resignation letter, I have been kindly (ahem!) sharing my laptop with my sisters. Both of them are in high school so every day upon getting home from the office they welcome me with two words: “Ate pa-research” That's why tonight I almost jumped for joy when there is silence in the living room and at the corner my laptop is sitting comfortably, only waiting to be turned on. Eeek, that last part is kinda disturbing.

Going back to how fun Fridays are, I and a couple of friends decided to have coffee after work. We hit Starbucks at The Columns. If you don’t know the place, it’s at the corner of Gil Puyat and Ayala Avenue, which reminds me that in the said area they have three SB stores when there isn’t even one near Headstrong. Yeah, life’s unfair like that.

A frapuccino always always intoxicates me. That and a lot of kwento with my girls made a great impromptu meet-up. Sadly I wasn’t able to put my camera in my bag this morning so I don’t have a picture to share. But in return, I have a story that I got from Nhix, one that really made a mark. Last week, somewhere near her place, a med student was killed. It was supposedly only a hold-up but the girl fought back and ended up getting 4 stabs. And to make it worse, it happened just a few steps away from her house. Really ill fate. However, three days after the crime, 2 of the 3 suspects were in police custody and the other one is found dead. It’s good that justice was served (and served fast) but it’s depressing how it was solved immediately just because she isn’t a nobody. FYI, she happened to be a granddaughter of a general (or sergeant or another high-ranking official, not so sure) and goddaughter of a city mayor. Clearly, something is wrong with the Philippines and it’s system, if there’s a thing as such. So come on P-Noy, show us what you got.

Okay, so much with the gloomy now. I got home a few minutes to 11pm and was surprised when I opened the fridge. I found a bar of Cadbury (you know how it is synonymous to happiness for me) and asked them whose it is. Turns out Faye (the same sibling in this post) bought it for me! :D

I asked her why and she said there isn’t a reason at all. Guess she’s just so thoughtful. Or I must have been a really good ate to deserve it. :)

There you have it, my version of the last day of the work week. I hope you enjoyed Friday as much as I did. Happy weekend everyone! :)
